Annual Cross-Country Competition 2005

Today marks the day of my Annual Cross-Country Competition.5 July 2005.
I went through the 4.8km run at MacRitchie Reservoir.To say the truth,I am indeed quite sadden when I saw that I did not make it to the Top 20 on the list.I was placed 27th...This is like,7 places away from an individual medal.But of course,my House,Rochore,won the overall Champions for the Sec 3 Cohort.Champions...I guess that everyone out there is a winner...Even the last guy who finished the race.I mean,it's like 4.8km is a long journey for most people.Being able to finish the race is no mean feat...So,even if you are like the last guy,you are also a winner.

When I started the race,most of the people were like in front of me.I was like one of the last few.But,as i cruised through the mudtracks,I made it to the first few.But even when I was running,I was suffering from stitch.I was puzzled why I got stitch as the pain usually comes if you drink lots of water before you run.I did not drink any drop of water.I endured the pain till the end.After the mudtracks,we came to the roads.Luckily,my good friend,Alvin,who decided to pace me in the running is still next to me.We ran past all the other runners as I started to pick up speed along the way.Until the end,I found the pain unbearable but I did not stop.Instead,I sprinted past the guy in front of me.And,that's how i got that 27th position.After the entire event,my class,3E, had to go back to school for Social Studies Class.We had Long John Silver's for lunch and made our way back to school.It was like a day of bonding for me.Me and my beloved class 3E...
